Bexley Park HOA News

CITY PARK UPDATE:

You may have noticed the permit box up on the site of our future city park (by the Military Trail entrance). According to the City of Delray Beach, construction is set to begin any day. They anticipate that our park should be complete by March or April.

Dear Bexley Park Residents,

We would like to take a moment to bring something concerning to your attention. Recently, we had serious vandalism activity at the community pool area. This included the locked bathrooms that require a resident’s key to access.   That seems to indicate that one (or more) of our young residents are behind this.  A police report has been filed.

We are asking that, if anyone sees unusual activity at the pool area, you please call the Delray Beach Police Department (561.243.7888). While this is the most severe vandalism we have seen, this is not the first time. We have had to repair the fence at the pool three times this year to due to vandalism.

As residents paying association dues, we all end up paying for this. If a resident's child is caught vandalizing Bexley Park property, the homeowner will be held financially responsible for repairs, and charges will be filed.

As your Board of Directors, we have worked very hard to make this a great community to live in. Please talk to your children about their responsibility in contributing to making this a better place to live for all of us.

Best regards,

Bexley Park Board of Directors

Stray Animal Attacks in Bexley Park

We wanted to make you aware of some recent events in Bexley Park. Two of our neighbors were attacked by stray cats within the past few months. One woman was simply walking her dog when two cats charged at them from 15-20 feet away, jumped on them and bit and scratched them. She was advised to go to the Emergency Room. She was then instructed by the E.R. doctor, Animal Control and the Health Department to undergo Rabies vaccinations because of the aggressive behavior and unknown vaccination history of the cats. We wanted to inform you of this situation to ask you to be cautious around our community. We would also like you to help prevent future attacks. Please do not feed stray cats in our community. Although you may feel that you are helping, you may also be luring more dangerous, stray cats into our community. This would also apply to the food that is left around our lake for ducks. Any food that you leave around the lake or your homes may lure stray animals including rodents, cats and dogs into our community. There have also been numerous large, stray dogs in our community.

Help keep Bexley Park safe.

Please call Animal Control if you see stray dogs or cats. Doing so may help prevent an attack on yourself or one of your neighbors.
